powers of Congress under the Commerce Clause- the power over the congress
the taxing and spending power- power to tax how they want to

Assignment #1

What are your views on the latest political ads on TV?  What candidate(s) do you like or dislike and why?
My view on the political ads that I'm seeing is that Kristi Noem and Stephanie Herseth-Sandlin need to stop bashing each other and just get to the point of why we should vote for them.  If I were big into politics and cared a lot what they were saying on their commercials, I don't want to hear from Herseth-Sandlin did "wrong" ten years ago.  I don't like either of these candidates because I haven't heard anything from them personally on why we should vote for them.  I don't want to hear why I shouldn't vote for the other, let me hear about YOU.
What role do you feel that you will play in politics and government in the future?  What ways are you participating currently?
I play a big role in politics and government as does anybody else eighteen or older.  We can vote which decides the future for our local and national Americans.  Currently I'm participating in just voting whenever I can.
